Creating Sacred Space

To set the mood for journaling, find a space where you are relaxed and will be undisturbed by any distractions. If you’re able, create a little alter with objects that are precious to you - things that remind you of whom you are at your core. When placing the objects on your alter, set them down with an intention of positive energy & support for your work.

Potential items might be:

  • Momentos

  • A candle

  • Stones/shells/gifts from nature

  • Photos/postcards

Prior to beginning your journaling session, you could:

  • Light your candle or incense to heighten your senses and uplift your spirit.

  • Clear your space by burning Palo Santo to welcome creativity, love and good fortune.

  • Smudge the room with White Sage to enhance intuition and promote healing.

The most important feature of creating sacred space is that you are able to fully relax and feel comfortable, allowing you to explore your feelings, emotions and beliefs.
